The Key Deer are the cutest little things! As a sub-species of the White-Tailed Deer, they are the smallest North American Deer. Sadly, they are also endangered, and currently only found on just a few Keys, primarily Big Pine Key.
On Big Pine Key, you will find the National Key Deer Refuge, but you can actually see these adorable little deer just about everywhere. These little guys are seriously protected, so DRIVE SLOW everywhere you go on Big Pine Key, and DON'T feed or pet them!
